Hey all,

I've been potty training with my 17 month old (yes, I know I'm crazy) and have been using a specific method.  I'm very much a child of psychology and completely believe in conditioning.  She gets rewarded when she does things correctly.  I have also been showing her that she needs to go to the toilet when she gets the sensation that she has to go to the bathroom.  Trust me, babies are a lot smarter than we give them credit for, and they can catch on rather easily if taught properly.  There's an article on my blog about some other methods and also some links to potty training devices.  Feel free to read over it.

I just started potty training my daughter a few days before Labor Day weekend.  However, we scheduled a camping trip with family at the last moment. 

So I brought the potty chair along because she was trying it a few times and seemed to enjoy it, but I was still "forcing" her to sit there.

When we got to the campsite and set up the tent I put the potty chair in the tent.  She thought that was pretty cool.  Of course, the bathhouse was a long ways a way!  Well, the first night was not very eventful and she wasn't really interested.  Neither was I!

But, the next day we tried the potty in the tent.  She thought that was so cool that she could pee in the tent!  So we just hung around the campsite most of that day with family and she had to show everyone how she could run into the tent to go potty.

Well, this continued every day!  Thank goodness it was a long weekend too because she did this for 3 days solid.  Guess what!  She kept using the potty when we got home.  Bingo... potty trained in a tent in 3 days!
